Gardenscapes is a luxury landscaping company covering Surrey (Cobham, Dorking, Esher, Guildford, Horley, Oxshott and Reigate) and West Sussex (Billingshurst, Crawley and Pulborough).

We’ve been in business since 1999, transforming residential gardens through garden design and landscape construction.

Gardenscapes provide all the significant hard landscaping services covering paving, decking, driveways and fencing, along with soft landscaping from planting to turfing.

We are immensely proud of the great work we do, undertaken by our highly qualified and dedicated in-house team.

Partner / Owner

Ainsley brings his extensive experience and knowledge of hard and soft landscaping to the team. As a business partner, he has a crucial role in customer communication and timekeeping of the projects, ensuring the highest quality of artistry is maintained. Ainsley studied at Norward Hall college before working for many leading landscape companies. He co-founded Gardenscapes in 1999 with Neal.

Neal Markwick
NEAL MARKWICK

Partner / Owner

Neal brings over 20 years of experience in hard and soft landscaping. After studying Garden Design at Merrist Wood College, Neal worked at other leading landscape companies rising to foreperson before co-founding Gardenscapes in 1999 with Ainsley. He is the first point of contact for many of our clients/designers and ensures the smooth running of the projects from initial site visit to completion.

In-House Garden Designer
Kate (BA Dip Landscape Architecture) is our in-house garden designer and has 25 years of experience designing and planting gardens. She trained as a landscape architect at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and Leeds Metropolitan University. Kate has worked in domestic landscaping since leaving University as a soft contracts manager and designer. She joined the Gardenscapes team in 2018. Kate is a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers.

Landscape Foreperson / Team Leader

Mark’s landscaping journey started with garden maintenance, but he soon realised the construction side of gardens interested him. He enrolled on a brick course at college and loved it. Afterwards, he then started working for a local landscaping company. The most favourite part of his job is seeing the finished product and admiring what he and the team have achieved. He still enjoys what he does, and his work achievements include the more complex and challenging landscaping projects, which he finds rewarding. Mark enjoys swimming and pilates when he’s not getting his hands dirty in the mud.

Victoria’s interest in landscaping can be traced back to watching her parents gardening on Sundays. Their hard work in the garden reaped amazing results and is something that has stayed with her into adult life. It’s no surprise that Victoria is passionate about beautiful flowers and enjoys visiting open gardens when she can.

In her role as Office Administrator, working in the Dorking showroom, Victoria helps clients with their landscaping requirements, orders materials for the projects and helps keep the office running smoothly. Being part of the Gardenscapes team means that Victoria can see dream gardens take shape from the initial drawings to the result, which she finds incredibly satisfying.

She’s a proud mum of three children and watching them grow and develop is an endless joy. Victoria loves spending quality time with her family, including holidaying by the coast and socialising with friends. 

 

Aidan Enticknapp

Landscaper

1. How did you get into landscaping and your favourite part of landscaping?  I started working in landscaping industry  with one of my distant family members company shortly after leaving full-time education. One of the my most favourite things about landscaping is being outdoors, the creatively and sense of achievement when big projects are completed. 
 
2. What are your personal and work achievements so far? My biggest personal achievement to date would be becoming a dad for the first time and welcoming my beautiful boy Reggie into the world late last year in 2022.
My work achievements to date that stands out in my mind would be working in a team to complete a stylish 150m² driveway with a disability access and steps.
 
3. What are your hobbies and likes ? My hobbies have always been sports related. I have been part of many of football teams over the years at all sorts of levels But I also like to play tennis, table tennis and many other sports. I also play 8ball pool for a local league for fun and occasionally play in some competitive competitions when I’ve had the practise haha!
 
4. What’s your role in the company? I am excited to be joining Gardenscapes and working alongside a excellent team as a skilled landscaper.

Ceri Furber

Apprentice Landscaper

Ceri is our Apprentice Landscaper working alongside Mark and helping with various jobs, which has greatly increased his horticultural knowledge since joining the team. He continually strives to improve his skills and learn, hoping one day to head up projects as a foreperson for Gardenscapes. Ceri became interested in landscaping after helping family and friends with their gardens. His hobbies include riding motorbikes and creative projects, where his ultimate aim is to improve his physical and mental skills.

Apprentice Landscaper

1. Having always had a passion for gardening and the outdoors, I decided to make a career change and embark on an apprenticeship to start a career In a role and area in which I love. My favourite part of landscaping is seeing a blank canvas transformed into an amazing outdoor space. 
 
2.  Personal achievements, visited over 40 countries and volunteered in Costa Rica and Fiji for animal conservation charities. I am also a proud father to my one year old daughter Robyn.
 
3.Work achievement – I have a Zoology Degree and am also a trained emergency frontline worker and computer programmer. Have worked on spinner dolphin conservation projects in Fiji.
 
4. I love to landscape and look after my own garden, nature walks, going to the gym and have a large house plant collection.
 
5. I have started at Gardenscapes as an apprentice, and look forward to developing my skills to become a foreman.
